PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION
- To assist
in promoting excellence in programming
in primary and/or secondary treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.
- To encourage
high quality services by the development of resources, information
networking and by working co-operatively.
- To co-ordinate regular meeting
of the First Nations-operated
Treatment Programs for
the purpose of sharing information,
developing resources, discussing current treatment and training issues
and identifying
needs.
- To provide
a supportive environment that will encourage the development of suitable
training programs for the staff of the treatment programs
- To assist
treatment centres in the provision of high quality services
- To advocate
on behalf of BC First Nations Treatment Program and those serviced through
those organizations.
- To participate
in the decision-making process related to treatment
and act as a resource to the decision-making bodies.
