Association of BC First Nations Treatment Programs

 

 

 

 

BACKGROUND

The Association is an inter-agency network of residential/outpatient addictions programs operated by First Nations in the province of B.C. Currently, the Association has a membership of 10 programs located both in rural and urban settings

The Logo Represents: The Wellness Field and all it takes to make it work in a holistic way for the good of the clients
the animals represent the different clans that make up a nation (i.e.
the Nation is the ABCFNTP)
They also represent people from different walks of life, with
different gifts
They are all facing the same direction which represents working
together
All different clans, with different gifts, but still working together
for the good of the whole nation
They form a circle which represents balance and healing and Wellness
The traditional colours represent the darkness from which we came
(creation story) and the red represents the dawning of human wisdomgiven from the Creator (dawn of enlightenment) the red also
represents the blood of our ancestors which still runs strong throughour veins
The hands represent the fact that the nation comes in peace; an openpalm shows that there is only good intentions and only peaceful
intentions (no ill will is present), the open hand also represents nothingto hide and also integrity because there is nothing hidden
The hand also represents a helper.
Many hands represent the many helpers here on earth and in the otherworld who are needed to bring about the healing of our people.
The hands also represent the people who need the help that is being
offered to them from the nation.
The hands also represent the people who are reaching out to the
nation for assistance.
