I have just recently attended
the PACE Crystal Meth Certificate Training. I feel that we have
reached a whole new level of competency as FN Addictions Workers.
However, I live on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) and
other than speaking to intake workers at the FN Tx Centres,
I feel out of touch. I did attend the conference where it was
decided that we would join the CHA. I have been involved with
NNADAP as a local advisory board member and then as a chairperson
for the Northwest Board, back when there were Zones and Zone
Directors.
I would like to know if there are plans for a forum for addiction
workers only. I value the work that the CHR's do, but I believe
that our responsibilities are unique and evolving quickly.
Thanks

We had the pleasure of
having Jenelle McMillan come to our school March 9 2006 and
give a workshop to our students on fetal alcohol. It was one
of the best workshops that I have attended on FAS, Jenelle was
a superb speaker and kept our students attention for close to
2 hours (believe me that is quite a feat with alternate ed students).
Feeding them piza & drinks was a great finish. Thank you
Jenelle for coming I hope that you get to our school again.
Your message, knowledge and life experience should be heard
by all students. Thanks again I hope this program will continue.
